Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for UPSC Civil Services Examination 2026 must possess the prescribed educational qualification as mentioned in the official notification.

The candidate must hold a Graduate Degree from a university incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India.
Candidates who have appeared or are appearing in a qualifying examination are also eligible to apply, subject to producing proof of passing at the time prescribed by UPSC.
Professional and technical qualifications recognised by the Government as equivalent are also accepted.
Candidates with professional degrees such as MBBS must have completed their internship before the Personality Test.

Age Limit

The age limit for UPSC Civil Services Examination 2026 is calculated as on 01 August 2026.

Minimum Age of the Candidates: 21 Years
Maximum Age of the Candidates: 32 Years
Age relaxation applicable for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and other categories as per Government rules.
