The Indian Forest Services Examination 2026 notification has been officially released by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The UPSC IFoS 2026 is conducted for recruitment to the prestigious Indian Forest Service. Candidates must appear in the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination and qualify it to proceed to the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination.

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for Indian Forest Services Examination 2026 must fulfill the minimum educational qualification prescribed in the official notification.

A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with at least one of the following subjects: Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Zoology.
OR a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or Engineering from a recognized University.
Candidates who have appeared in a qualifying examination are eligible, subject to producing proof of passing before the Personality Test.
Equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government are also accepted as per rules.

Age Limit

The age criteria for Indian Forest Services Examination 2026 is determined as per the prescribed cut-off date in the notification.

Minimum Age of the Candidates: 21 Years
Maximum Age of the Candidates: 32 Years
Age relaxation applicable for SC / ST / OBC / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen categories as per Government rules.

The application fee for Indian Forest Services Examination 2026 must be paid online.

General / OBC / EWS Candidates: ₹ 700
SC / ST / PwBD / Female Candidates: Exempted
Main Examination Fee (if qualified): ₹ 200 (Except exempted categories)

Complete Account Creation and generate the Universal Registration Number (URN).
Select Indian Forest Service Examination and indicate if applying for Civil Services also.

Pay the applicable application fee and submit the form.
Take a printout of the final submitted application for future reference.
